Welcome to “inner monologues”, a bi-weekly look into shit I’m learning (and unlearning) about creative universes, cultural spaces and the roles they have in the minutiae of everyday life.

As I’m writing this draft in my notes app I’m thinking,

“What in the ever-loving fuck could you say right now that the world already hasn’t heard?”

You know, for a lot of people, that’s a deterrent. They shut their laptops, close their notes app and put their (probably amazing) thoughts into a tiny little bottle and stuff it into their pockets.

Are you seeing the visual? Okay, moving on.

I like challenges. To an extent, of course, but for the most part, I enjoy seeing what I can do with the new things I discover. A case of shiny new toy syndrome, perhaps, but we don’t call it that over here. We call it being a multidisciplinary creative.

In the first and third week of every month, a monologue of sorts will slither its way into your inbox. If I try hard enough it’ll be glaringly obvious that I want you to read it.

But this isn’t about being glaringly obvious. This is about me, materialising the 3 a.m. ponderings onto ink and paper (or in this case, keyboard and screen).

This newsletter is an amalgamation of all the creative universes, imposing thoughts, stupidly brilliant ideas and musings that I often learn and unlearn about the world. I’ve decided that this is the place for them. I’m setting my bottle out to sea and waiting for the ship full of curious unlearners to find it.

And I hope one of them is you.
